Before

Tell the person you are speaking to that you are ringing to express
concern at the indiscriminate deforestation going
on in Northern Argentina, which is destroying
the country´s last remaining forests and
displacing campesinos and indigenous people.

Ask that the Argentinian government declare an
urgent moritorium on deforestation across the
country, so that all provinces stop the destruction of their forests,
as the province of Santiago del Estero has just done.
·
Remind them that the destruction of forest
means the loss of thousands of animal and plant species,
many unique to this part of the world, the degradation
and contamination of the soil thanks to the use of pesticides,
and the forced displacement of hundreds of indigenous
people who live in the north of Argentina.
Before calling don´t forget the following:

+ Be brief and clear
+ Be respectful and polite, even if the person you´re talking
to isn´t!
