  • Who did you speak to at the embassy or consulate?: Ask that the Argentinian government declare an urgent moritorium on deforestation across the country, so that all provinces stop the destruction of their forests, as the province of Santiago del Estero has just done.
What did they say?: Let us know! It will be really useful for us to be able to follow the international pressure which we are generating thanks to you. And you will be able to see the comments of others who, like you, are calling from all over the world to defend the last remaining forests of Argentina
What do you think of their response to your call?: Remind them that the destruction of forest means the loss of thousands of animal and plant species, many unique to this part of the world, the degradation and contamination of the soil thanks to the use of pesticides, and the forced displacement of hundreds of indigenous people who live in the north of Argentina.

    Dear Sir/Madam,
We have received over the last two days several emails and faxes of similar drafting, among them one from you, expressing concerns at the logging operations that may be occurring in northern Argentina (province of Salta).
The Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Australia is not aware of any such process taking place and has asked our authorities in Buenos Aires to provide us with relevant information on this issue.
We look forward to share with you such information which will help to clarify and have a clear picture of the current situation.
    Yours sincerely,
Embassy of Argentina, Canberra - Australia
